Dan Griffin Enterprises, LLC (DGE) is an international speaking, training, and consulting organization dedicated to transforming the conversations about what it means to be a man in the 21st century by helping people see the impact of the Man Rules on the lives of men and their ability to effectively engage in their relationships. We help men have the same success in their personal lives that they seek to achieve in their professionals lives.
What is Griffin Recovery Enterprises (GRE)
Griffin Recovery Enterprises, INC (GRE), a subsidiary of DGE, LLC., is focused on supporting addiction and mental health programs treating men to more effectively engage men in the therapeutic process of change and men in recovery in building a quality life of recovery with fulfilling relationships and lives.
Do you only work with men?
No, not at all. While our focus is on men we know that women are some of the greatest advocates for men’s health and those who love men dearly. We work closely with women to support them in their relationships with men and to educate them as to how they can most effectively connect with the men in their lives. In GRE, we believe that all professionals can benefit from learning our unique approach to working with men in the addictions and mental health fields. When it comes to seeing and understanding men’s trauma we have a long way to go so we will engage with anyone who interested in listening and willing to have the tough conversations.
Can Dan speak at my event?
Of course he can! But seriously, contact us at [email protected] and let us know what you would like Dan to talk about. We try to make sure that every request is seriously considered and not to have financial considerations (or limitations) prevent us from being able to work with you. The messages are too important!
What are The Man Rules?
This concept is core to Dan’s work and comes out of his masters work. The Man Rules are those internalized scripts that all men follow (or resist) to prove to the rest of the world that they are men. We all know the Man (and Woman) Rules because we learn them at a very young age – from our parents – fathers and mothers, the media, and, of course, in the schoolyard. Because we internalize the Man Rules so young they are 1) not very conscious to us and 2) we rarely have the opportunity to critically evaluate them. So they become invisible to us while driving so much of our behavior.
Dan and his team focus on all areas of addiction as they relate most specifically to men and trauma. This means ingestive and process addictions as well as codependency are part of the team’s focus.
What are The 8 Agreements?
The Eight Agreements on Males, Trauma, and Addictive Disorders were unanimously endorsed by a group of professionals in May in 2013 at the Males, Trauma, and Addiction Summit held in La Quinta, California as part of the West Coast Symposium on Addictive Disorders. The Summit marked the first time that professionals in the addiction and recovery field had come together to discuss males’ experience of trauma. The group unanimously concluded that in order for professionals to best help all males recover and promote a process of healing from trauma, they must understand males’ unique issues and needs. The event was co-sponsored by C4 Recovery Solutions, the Bridge to Recovery, and Griffin Recovery Enterprises, Inc.
